Tree Multiple Exposure

A multi-layered world of trees

Dreamy, painterly and impressionistic

Discover the magic of multiple exposure in tree photography! In this master class, you will learn how to create stunning, abstract, and painterly images—all in-camera. From impressionistic layers to dreamlike compositions, unlock new creative possibilities and transform ordinary trees into works of art. Let's see the world through different eyes!

Straight out of the camera

This masterclass is all about in-camera multiple exposure techniques, where the real magic happens during shooting and minimal post-processing is required.

Although the main focus is on capturing effects in-camera, the course also includes sections on post-processing. In one of these chapters, I show how to create in-camera multiple exposure effects using the same images that were captured during shooting.

Why in-camera?

Capturing multiple exposures in the camera encourages creativity through instant feedback, spontaneous experimentation, and the thrill of capturing the final image at just the right moment.

Creativity in the Moment

Do you want to learn...

You are about to learn how to create glowing mushrooms. But that's not all! There is much more to these images than you might think. You will learn how to build the images step by step. We go into great detail with all the images. The light painting of the mushroom heads is just one of these steps. Learning skills like this really helps you grow as a photographer. Isn't that what you want? To learn new skills.

What camera to use?

Many mirror and mirrorless cameras from Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, and others offer this feature. Check your camera settings! However, Sony does not have a multiple exposure feature.

The addiction to multiple exposures in the camera

Be aware....

Be warned—taking multiple exposures with your camera can be addictive! Once you start experimenting, it's hard to stop. Overlaying images in real time encourages creativity, inspires spontaneous exploration, and ensures that you engage with every shot. Each new attempt reveals unexpected textures, patterns, and moods, turning every shot into a unique work of art. The results can be truly spectacular, transforming even ordinary scenes into dreamlike, abstract, or surreal compositions. This technique opens up endless creative possibilities!
