Discover a new way of seeing

Dreamy feel straight out of the camera

Learn how to create an instant artistic and dreamy look. With these techniques, your flower portraits will require little or no post-processing; the real magic happens during the actual shooting in the camera.

The hunt for the perfect light

All our flower portraits are taken using available light; we do not use flash. We aim for soft, pleasant light that envelops the flower.

Embracing shallow depth of field

The soul of a flower

The selective focus we use results in a shallow depth of field and the associated blurring, which creates a dreamy, picturesque, and even painterly image. Would you like to learn how to capture the essence or magic of a flower?

Composition

Learn to see the whole picture. Pay attention to all the details within the image and use them effectively to create powerful and visually interesting compositions.

Seeing the whole picture

Background is key

Mastering the art of effective backgrounds is the fastest way to improve your photography. Images with distracting backgrounds look like amateur snapshots, while well-thought-out backgrounds immediately elevate the image to a higher level.

Looking through a viewfinder

Looking through a camera is completely different from seeing with your own eyes; the depth of field, sharpness, focal point, and aspect ratio are completely different.

Camera technique

I create the tutorials that I wanted and needed when I started out as a photographer. When I studied tutorials or attended workshops back then, I always asked myself the same question. What does it look like through the camera? What does the instructor see through the viewfinder while searching for a composition? In my tutorials, I really try to show you what I see when I take my pictures. So I invite you to look over my shoulder. I even give you a look through my viewfinder so you can see what I see when I compose my pictures. Want to discover all these secrets?
